LWVMM 2025-2026 Priorities

Each year, the LWVMM reviews positions adopted by the national (LWVUS) and state (LWVWV) Leagues and selects priorities for action.

The League only advocates on issues for which we have established positions.

The LWVMM adopted the following priorities for 2025-2026:

  • Voting and Democracy

Action to protect the right to vote of every citizen, and to encourage informed participation in governmental processes.

  • Social Justice

The LWV is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in principle and in practice. We are all responsible for making Morgantown, Monongalia County, and the state of West Virginia welcoming and inclusive communities.

  • Environmental Protection

Climate change is no longer a distant or future threat. It has become a climate crisis for which near-term responses are needed. The LWV seeks to protect the health and safety of all West Virginians as well as our planet Earth.

The League of Women Voters recognizes that our country is in a constitutional crisis. In response, LWVUS has launched a new initiative to mobilize voters to protect and preserve our democracy.
